Victoria McLeod claims silver at state titles
Victoria McLeod has confirmed her status as one of the best up and coming swimmers Griffith has to offer with a blistering swim at the NSW PSSA State Swimming Carnival.
After qualifying second fastest for the girls 12-13 50 metre breaststroke, Victoria replicated her qualifying performance and claimed the silver medal in a time of 36.94.
Following the achievement it’s fair to say that Victoria was feeling pretty good.
“It is an amazing feeling, I’m so excited,” Victoria said when asked how it felt to be the second fastest in the state.
“I’m thankful for all the support from my family and friends.”
The amazing swim comes after Victoria claimed the 50m breaststroke gold medal at the Speedo finals and a silver at the NSW Country titles.
The string of achievements haven't come easy for Victoria who has a strenuous training schedule.
Victoria has a minimum of six sessions a week and will be in the water for at least 10 hours.
The Griffith North Public School student has ramped her training up in the past month and will continue to do so in the lead up to more events.
The second placing at the state championships sees Victoria qualify for the national titles to be held in Darwin in September this year.
